Cardiac surgeon Dr. Vladimir Kornovski was maned “Doctor of Burgas” for 2020 during the first edition of the medical awards in the seaside town. Dr. Kornovski won the individual award for his medical professionalism and high morale.

On World Heart Day, the Bulgarian Cardiac Institute launched a campaign to identify the effects on the heart and the cardiovascular system in patients who have survived COVID-19. Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, also joined the campaign and had his blood pressure measured by the doctors from the Heart and Brain Center of Excellence.
