He is a long-term lecturer at the Sofia Medical Academy. Besides theoretical and scientific activity prof. Petrov is also a very active vascular surgeon who operates the most complex cases in the field of carotid, abdominal and peripheral vascular pathology, as well as vascular access for hemodialysis.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Petrov is a pioneer in the development of Doppler sonography both in Sofia and in a number of clinics in the country &#8211; vascular surgery at VMI Pleven, Sofia. Ruse, Burgas, etc. Over the years, he has managed some of the leading clinics in the country.<\/p>\n<p>In 1995 he defended his dissertation on &#8220;<em>Transcranial Doppler Sonography in Surgery of the Aortic Arch Arteries<\/em>&#8220;, which was the first dissertation on vascular sonography in Bulgaria. He is the author of key monographs, including &#8220;<em>Practical Aspects of Doppler Sonography<\/em>&#8220;, &#8220;<em>Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA) &#8211; Surgical Treatment<\/em>&#8220;, the extensive monograph &#8220;<em>Vascular Sonography<\/em>&#8220;, which deals with all aspects of Doppler sonography in various specialties. Editor-in-chief, author and co-author of numerous textbooks on surgical vascular access, vascular surgery. Member of the editorial board of the journal Angiology and Vascular Surgery. The publications of prof.
