He graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 1983. He obtained specialties in paediatric diseases (1989) and paediatric rheumatology (1993), as well as a qualification in joint ultrasonography.<\/p>\n<p>He specialized in paediatric rheumatology in Finland, Germany and Italy. He defended his thesis on &#8220;Treatment of juvenile chronic arthritis with intra-articular administration of depocorticosteroids&#8221;. He became Associate Professor and Professor of Pediatrics in 2011 and 2018, respectively, at the Department of Pediatrics, Medical University Sofia. He is a long-standing Head of the Clinic of Rheumatology, Cardiology and Haematology of the Hospital of Pediatrics &#8220;Prof. Dr. Ivan Mitev&#8221;, Sofia.<\/p>\n<p>He is a member of the International Organization of Pediatric Rheumatologists (PRINTO), the Bulgarian Pediatric Association, the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Rheumatology, the Bulgarian Medical Society of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis and the Association &#8220;Rheumatically ill child&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>With over 35 years of experience, prof.
